A wedding at the beautiful Cogges Manor Farm in Oxfordshire. A place I had visited as a teacher. Now somewhere that holds beautiful memories as the place where these lovely people held their wedding.
Tom and Amy. What can we say about these two? Two people who in the space of an hour (our first meet up) became friends. As we wandered around the venue we talked about cars - the boys did! and SEN teaching - the girls did! and we both enjoyed long chats about how to cook a nice tender piece of brisket and what cocktails we both like! and also found time to chat about their day.
Their wedding day reflected everything about who they are as people and their families. They held their ceremony in possibly the darkest venue we have ever worked in, but every aspect of the lighting, the beautiful decor (check out the styling! - those shapes were made by hand by these two!), the cake, the table plan, the clocks (real time, Tom time …. yup, there is such thing as Tom time and you know when you’ve met Tom). the table names (cocktails) and even the cocktail bar and brisket cooked on the smoker, all of this reflected these guys perfectly.
In contrast with the dark rooms for the reception and ceremony, the day itself was one of the hottest days of 2018. Poor Tom, how you coped in your woollen suit is beyond us all!
Cogges Manor Farm is such a beautiful venue, with working farm, manor house, herb gardens and orchards. A lovely place to visit and truly wonderful location for a wedding. When the sun was slightly less bright, we ventured off for photos and enjoyed the grounds and time away from the hustle and bustle to chat with these guys again.
When the day finished for us we left feeling full of brisket and aching faces from smiling and laughing. Amys family taught us a new game “Dont show Keith your teeth” and we went on back to our friends house and continued playing it there! Thank you to the Boobyers for teaching us that one!
Thank you Tom and Amy for choosing us to be your photographers. For making us smile and for being just really real and fun. Your day was wonderful and we enjoyed it very much xx o&c
