Four years ago we had the pleasure of photographing Jon and Christinas wedding day. A truly wonderful and special day that actually had a huge impact on the way we shoot people.
When these guys asked us if we would be up for capturing their little lady and them as a family we of course jumped at the chance. We headed to the wonderful Hilton Court Gardens on what just so happened to be their fourth wedding anniversary.
They were very keen to keep the photos natural and to allow their lovely little lady, Alys, to be herself. We explored, wandered and these guys had lots of giggles. We also had enough time to pop down to the beach at the end of the session.
Here is a little selection of moments from their day and also some kind words from Jon and Christina about their shoot and why they were so keen to have one. If you would like to know more about family shoot please have a read and a gander and do contact us here, we would love to capture some memories for you too x o&c
Heres what Jon and Christina had to say....
Why did you want a [photoshoot? - We definitely wanted a photoshoot for Alys’ first birthday as time is going by so fast. We wanted some nice pictures to pop on the wall of the three of us & just to keep as a memory for her to look back on as she grows up. One thing we always love doing is looking back at pictures of when we were little and knowing how much love filled our lives, and even though there are lots of pictures, we always wish there were more! Especially as you lose special members of the family, pictures are a lot more than ‘just’ a picture.
Why did you choose o&c? - o&c photographed our wedding & did the most amazing job. The walls in our house are filled with the photos! We wanted some natural shots of us being a family and going about our normal fun, especially as Jon has a Chandler Bing photo face! Knowing what a great job o&c do of capturing a natural moment perfectly, there were no better people for the job!
What was it like? - We went to Hilton Court Gardens and explored, stopping in a few places that were good spaces for pictures. We played with Alys as we normally would & Charis snapped away. We had lots of lovely conversation too making us feel at ease, leading to more natural photographs. We ventured down to Nolton Haven and had some more pictures, where Charis even ventured in to the sea to take some pictures & ended up with a soaking wet bum! It was less of a photoshoot & more of a morning/afternoon out with a friend. I’ve never met anyone with such a natural ability to make people feel so comfortable in their company.
What do the photos mean to you? - A lot! We don’t often take photos of the three of us, especially natural ones. Photos have become a huge part of recording memories for us, not just big milestones, but everyday life too, and these will form a lovely keepsake to look back on for years to come. Our faves will take pride of place on our ever growing photo wall where they will stay for a very long time. I hope Alys will look back at these when she has a family of her own and treasure them as much as we will. We can’t thank you enough for doing such a fantastic job of capturing our family!! Until the next time x
