We often have enquiries from couples who want to have a quiet, super-small wedding. Sometimes these weddings are so small and intimate its just the bride and groom involved. We love them! Greig and Natalie contacted us telling us they were planning on a "Runaway" wedding at the wonderful Nantwen, here in Pembrokeshire. It was (not any more!) a top secret wedding, with just Greig and Natalie and their beautiful little daughter. They had opted to get married after holidaying in Pembrokeshire as a family. Lucky for them they had some of the better weather we have had this summer and it really was positively balmy! We hope the photos speak for themselves. A simple, yet incredibly beautiful and special wedding ceremony with some couple/family shots in the grounds of Nantwen.
If you want to know more about the day Natalie kindly wrote a bit about how these guys went about opting for a "Runaway" wedding, so enjoy these photos and then have a read about just how these guys went about planning their secret wedding day and sharing it with their family and friends afterwards. Thank you so much Greig, Natalie and little E for being so lovely. For sharing in the incredible cake (handmade by Jemma at Nantwen... best cake ever!!) and for choosing us to capture your family at the start of your marriage.
Here is what Natalie had to say about their Runaway Wedding at Nantwen
In brief {or as long as you like}, tell me your story. How did you meet, how did you become engaged and for how long had you been engaged before your wedding day? What happened along the way? How did you get here?: It was only after 4 and a half years together and having our daughter Evelyn that we decided that marriage had become something we wanted. So whilst away in the Lake District in January 2017 Greig proposed. We knew we didn't want a traditional wedding but just had to find something that we could do just the three of us but that wasn't a typical registry office ceremony.
What made you choose your venue(s) and location(s)?: We'd already booked our holiday to Pembrokeshire and after googling 'very small weddings in Pembrokeshire' we were lucky enough to find Nantwen and for the venue, registrars and wonderful photographers to all be free on the same day during our holiday. We knew we wanted a very small ceremony but didn't want a conventional registry office and Nantwen was perfect.
Do you have any comments about your photography? What was it like working with o&c? Why did you decide to book us?: We cannot thank you enough for the wonderful photos you took on our day. The fact that you took the time to also do some filming without us knowing and surprised us with our wedding video following day was an added bonus and was a lovely way to help us share our news with our family and friends. For two people that usually hate having their photo taken (Evelyn obviously doesn't take after us in this trait and loves the camera!!) you immediately put us at ease and we never felt awkward or self conscious. We would not hesitate in recommending you, you are both very very talented and thank you again for sharing our morning with us.
If you could impart any words of wisdom to a couple planning their marriage and wedding day, what would they be and is there anything you would do differently?: Be brave enough to do things exactly how you want them!
If you would like to know more about our photography services please do drop us a line here, we would LOVE to chat to you about your day x
